Spring Thyme Blog Hop Continues!!!!!
Up next is Debbie Busby from Wooden Spool Designs!  How cool is it that she was married on the 1st day of spring!  What a neat anniversary date!!  Here is her Q & A!!!

Q & A
Tell us briefly about yourself… Hey everybody…. I’m Debbie Busby of Wooden Spool Designs. I’ve lived in the Northwest my whole life and love living here. I’ve been married for 39 years; have two married children, 6 adorable grandchildren, and two labs.

Life is always busy around here and each day is filled with something new!!! In other words…there is NEVER A DULL MOMENT!!!
Favorite medium to work in?  WOOL!!!! My absolute favorite medium to work with is 100%wool. Hand dyed wool. I dye my own wool and love seeing the changes the wool goes through and the transformation it takes during the dying process.

What inspires you?  My mom inspired me to start my business which I will always be grateful for. Everyday things that I see, the shapes and colors of the different seasons, spending time in the quiet late nights at my sewing table is my favorite time to create.

I am also inspired by my family, friends, and all the other wonderful people who LOVE to work with wool!! There is nothing more inspiring than to be around others who love to stitch with wool!!

Indispensable tool?  Fortunately not many tools are required for wool applique and would not be possible without a needle. I use Piecemaker #8 embroidery needles but always tell my students that there is really NO WRONG needle. Use what you like….what you can thread…..and make sure you have an extra!! (I always lose mine)!!

Your design style in 3 words?  Heartwarming, Folksy, Whimsical

On the drawing board?  I seem to never be able to stitch faster than the list of projects I have lined up!! Spring Quilt Market is coming up in May so I am working on new designs!!

You collect?  My favorite things to collect are old buttons in jars, tomato pincushions, and Ironstone pitchers. I love old rustic style things!!

On your bucket list? I would love to take a fall trip to the New England States!!!
Click the link to head on over to Debbie's blog to print off her recipe & this darling little tulip basket!

We were just talking about wool... What about stitches on wool?  I am a huge fan of the blanket stitch!  Lately I have been noticing many variations of the stitch itself.  I thought I would share a couple tutorials that I came across.  Please click the link on the bottom for more info!  I think these are very easy and doable.  It never hurts to learn a new stitch or put a new twist on your current work!

DIY 5 Blanket Stitch Variations and Tutorials from coletterie here. I post a lot of DIYs that use blanket stitch from clothing using fleece ...
http://www.coletterie.com/tutorials-tips-tricks/tutorial-5-simple-blanket-stitch-variations

Here are few more great stitches that ware fairly easy and again, would be a nice twist on your work!  I also love the feather stitch.  It comes in handy in many places.  I always use it on a wing of a bird, for the veins in leaves and so much more!

Nests!  I think a very sweet and simply way to dress up anything for spring is by simply adding a nest and a couple vintage looking eggs!  Another great way is to gather some of your favorite pieces and arrange them on a cake pedestal, old tray or vintage box like this example.   And of course... don't for get the small quilt under it!  That is the more important part!

Hipperty Hop! Spring Thyme Blog Hop is moving along!

Hello!  Is everyone enjoying the blog hop!?!
I know I sure am!  I was thinking about how generous my fellow designers and I are!  To think that since December (once the hop is over!)...  each of you will have added 30 ish NEW UNRELEASED patterns to your stash!  That is amazing!  Nothing better then sharing our creativity with each of you!!!

So as of the time I pre-set this post, I had not received a picture or the Q & A from our next guest designer Jeni from Woolen Willow Designs!  I a sure she is busy and just ran out of time!  Since I got her recipe card ready... that will be my little tease to get you to hop over her way!!!  I just know she has something darling for you!!!!

In the meantime...I will send a little spring and inspiration your way!  I love old metal watering cans!  With spring just around the corner I am starting to think about getting in my flowers beds and hitting the storage shed to take out a couple of my vintage watering cans!  Here are a few ideas that I would were neat to do that are sweet and simple for spring!
Enjoy!  Happy Hopping!!!

Such a pretty Easter image from a The Fairy. In a frame, transferred to a towel or pillow-- quick & lovely!

I thought this would be great to use as an Easter Basket rather then those plastic ones!  It would be really neat filled with sewing/wool goodies for your sewing friend!  Or you could always have your husband fill it up with some treasure just for you!!!!

To go along with my watering can theme.... How cute would this be... especially if you added a little spring colored small quilt under the watering can!  Darling!!!  I am going to do this!!!

I also thought was clever!  This would be great to add a vintage touch in the flower beds!
