Sad News...

.....I should be snuggled in bed drifting of into a nice dream...
However, today we got some sad news and I just can't sleep.

Our oldest cat Winsten, who is 16, was diagnosed with cancer this morning.  He has a very large mass in his intestines and it is not curable or removable at this point.  For the most part, I was really caught off guard and unprepared for the news to say the least... especially since I brought my two girls with to the (what I thought would be a "typical") appointment.  They were devastated and heart broken when we heard the news.  The thought of them having to say good bye to the "Big Boy" just breaks my heart.... Gonna go snuggle again with him and see if he will eat a little for me...
Love you, Winsten XOXO!
Winsten our on way to the vet this morning...

Sorry to hear that. We have been through that with both one of our cats and our dog last spring. It is hard, we planted a shrub in honor of them. Maybe you can do this when the time comes, the girls can make stepping stones.

Ohh...I know how you feel. When my cat Boozie was diagnosed with lymphoma in the intestinal area, I was so shocked I couldn't believe it. I think the neighbors heard me crying from across the street, I was so devastated. We paid for chemo and it was so expensive, but we don't regret a penny of it.

She went on to live another three and a half years. We found her in the front of the house last April. The vet thinks she was "bumped" by a car. We had her for 12 years and I cherish every moment I had with her. I wish you the same...

Sorry to hear about Winston. I had a 16 year old who went blind one day and it was from his heart. I got some meds and bought him home, but all he did was cry and fall into things. It was hard, but I knew he was not happy being blind and I knew it was time for him to go.

My heart breaks for you. I know how hard it is to say goodbye to a pet. You all will be in my prayers, enjoy those last purrs.

Stacy, so sorry to hear about Winsten! I lost my 18 year old Maine coon a couple of years ago now and it's still raw for us. Sending hugs and comforting thoughts your way! :-( xoxo ~Wendy

Stacy, I'm so sorry to hear about Winston. We went through that a few years ago with one of our kitties who was only 6 at the time. Winston is a lucky kitty to have found a family that loves him so much and has taken such good care of him. ~Roberta
