Where have I been?!? Well... working, hosting Santa's Workshop, pulling all nighters {which aren't as easy as they used to be!!} & exhibiting in Houston! We have also been working on a few "secret" projects! We also had Carole, the Quilt Mania/Simply Vintage editor fly in from France for a photo shoot for a book they are publishing for me! I promise... I'm not "slacking"!!! Lol! I also designed a super cute project for my friend Anna, to teach at Sisters, Oregon, during the quilt show! So be sure to watch for that coming out and sign up for her class! The project is themed around that event! I've also been working on 2 more fabric lines! It's nothing but exciting here for us at the Basin! We can't wait to share more with you when we can!!!!

Before I forget, I'd like to say "welcome" to all our new followers & "thank you" to our faithful supporters! You gals are just the best! Thanks for the emails, likes & for sharing your work with us!!! We love our BB community!!!

Our retail shop is getting busier & busier! Today we even had 2 gals stop in to shop when we weren't open! So... we are thinking about being open more & starting up the clubs we've always dreamt of in the new year! IF this is something you would like to see happen... please let us know! It could be hard to juggle- but we sure could give it a whirl!!!!

On the home front... Grace & Hannah are doing great!!! Grace has a timer set on her phone that is counting down the days until she gets her license! Lol! It's not until Feb!!! She's busy dancing, meeting up with friends at Caribou & recently got the cutest hair cut/color! Han is enjoying college! She's spoiled with us being so close! {But- I wouldn't have it any other way!}. She enjoyed her first deer hunting experience with her boyfriend & his family last weekend! {No, she'd never shoot a deer!}. She's going out again with them this weekend! Can't believe she's doing it!!! Lol! On a sad note... we had to put down one of Grace's guinea pigs, Pia. Poor little girl got so sick. We are hoping her other guinea pig, Oreo, doesn't get lonely!!!

I had hoped to get pics taken of the Quilts-On-A-Stick winners for today… unfortunately, it didn’t happen – but I am working on and off this weekend and that is on my to do list! It is family weekend at the University of MN, so we have a few things going on with Hannah including a Chili Cook off/tail gating before we head to the the UofM football game! It is supposed to rain… so keep your fingers crossed for me that it doesn’t!!! LOL! I took a couple afternoon’s off this week to spend time with her…. as I have 3 busy weeks coming up where the shop is open twice & I am flying out to a trade show in Houston! Gotta make times for my girls!!! We sure enjoyed hanging out, shopping & going out for supper! Good times!!!

Guess what? It’s time to share my NEW fabric, wool & yarn dyes line with you all!!! I am so excited about this collection! It is GORGEOUS! It is called Buttermilk Basin’s Pumpkin Farm! It features fall on the farm! The colors are rich; the wools are yummy & the yarn dyes are festive! You can mix and match! I just had a blast working on this line! It premieres at the International Quilt Market in 2 weeks! I can’t wait to get the real files and put them on my website so you can see how pretty they are! The samples in the pics I am sharing are just to give you an idea! I hope you love it!!! I really can’t wait to get my hands on that wool! YEEHAW!!!!!!!!!

I am going to keep this short as I am going to snuggle with my kitties! It has been a busy week and they need some love!!! I have all 4 on the bed here with me! Doesn’t get any better than that!!!! New designs, we are working diligently on new designs!  We will be releasing them at WOOLSTOCK at the shop.  The following week… we will be having our FALL INTO AUTUMN Online Event!  So please be sure to watch for more details on that as we want to make sure all you out of town followers have the options to get some of the NEW goods too!!!!  We would never forget you, as you are just as important to us!!!!!  I am going to TRY to offer extra goods that we don’t usually carry online and only get in for events.  The stickler is shipping.  Some of the items are big and bulky so if you can, I would try to come to the shop first, and if that doesn’t work hop online the following week and see what we can handle shipping!

Isn’t this fall weather lovely?  Juel heard on the news that this will be one of the most beautiful falls we will experience here in MN!  She also said the colors will be spectacular too!  We usually don’t have time to get away since it is one of our busiest times of year… but I am thinking a road trip would be fun so see all the beautiful shades of autumn!  After all,… it is my FAV season!  Pumpkin Everything is how I role!!!  I see they even have the pumpkin Blizzard back at the Dairy Queen across the street!!!!!  I have never had one – but it is on my list for this year!!!

NEW Mystery BLOCKS Revealed, CHRISTMAS IN JULY CELEBRATION and MORE NEW KITS & Patterns

Happy "LUCKY" Friday!  What a fantastic day to give away some NEW Live Each Season Mystery BOM Block 7 KITS over on our Facebook page!!!!  We turned the corner and started my FAV season… FALL!  This row is going to be SO FUN to design & stitch!  Who doesn't love "pumpkin everything" season!!  We have the pattern on our website to click and print off FREE & kits to purchase!  Don't forget - we added the NEW JULY WOOL BUNDLE on our site too!  It is a gorgeous bundle with textured, striped & yummy colored wool!

Where have I been?  WORKING!  I have been putting in 12-14 hour days!  I thought things would slow down - but instead we are busier than ever!  It took a "team" effort to get the 34 new market patterns completed and it took forever to get the 54 new pattern covers printed!  But we did it!  These new patterns are going to be on the website for our BIG CHRISTMAS IN JULY EVENT!  It starts next Thursday, the 20th!  These patterns are just amazing!  I also need to give a BIG shout out to Dawn Cornell for all her help with these patterns!  She has been busting it making our patterns/diagrams better than ever!  And thanks to my shops gals who day in and day out work their magic with me!  I have a DREAM job and I never take it for granted!

On the home front… we are headed to Indiana for 2 family grad parties! We brought Hannah & Her boyfriend Tyler with!  They enjoyed the morning/afternoon at Wisc Dells and had fun mini golfing & driving go carts while I worked!  {I love hot spots!!}  Grace is off to dance camp and Sally is holding down the fort for us and feeding the animals!  I miss them already!  We will be staying in Chicago tonight and taking in some sites & Chicago style pizza!!!!!  I hope to hit some antique shops on the way home!  {Insert HAPPY face!}

NEW FREE Block 6 Pattern & NEW Hexi DESIGNS& KITS

HEY!  It is a SUPER FANTASTIC "LUCKY" Friday over on our FB page!  We have outdid ourselves this week for you {even with being shorthanded!!}  Not only did we get the NEW Block #6 ready from our LIVE EACH SEASON "Mystery" BOM… we also pulled off getting caught up with our Hexi BOM's!  We have 2 NEW Hexi "Door" Greeters and 2 NEW Hexi Mats for you in the cutest themes!  May's designs feature SEWing themes, while June's feature HOME & hearth motifs!  These 5 NEW designs were so fun to create!  You know that is my FAV part!  With SEW many designs being released this week, it was hard to choose a LF Giveaway!  So… I decided on giving away KITS for Block #6 of the mystery bom!  So be sure to leave a comment below for a chance to win a sweet kit!!!

 Speaking of the LIVE EACH SEASON BOM…  After realizing that people from all over the world are doing this "Mystery BOM" and ending up changing out the American flags for their country's flags - I decided to  pass on adding another flag, and instead snuck in a red, cream & blue flower!  Plus, who doesn’t love an old fashioned picnic basket filled with assorted flowers!!  This block is super summery!  We hope you enjoy it!

As I mentioned before, the new Hexi designs are cuter then ever!  I went old school on the "home" themed ones by including a few sheep, a pineapple & of course, a saltbox home!  This one will be a great one to stitch & keep up all year long!  I know many of you are just like me and gravitate towards anything for our sewing rooms!  The series would not be complete without a sewing themed design!  I don't know which is cuter - the mat of the door greeter!  Kits & patterns for all 5 designs are on the website now!!!!

This week we are starting to promote the "Biggest" & SUPER COOL FUN Handwork Event in the Midwest!  It is our 4th Annual WOOLSTOCK Event!  Each year this gets more and more exciting!  And.. each year, more and more people attend this 3 day hand work event.  This year we have NEW & EXCITING things planned!  Since we have expanded the shop, we are also expanding out in to the back with a large tent to offer up some FUN things "Under the BIG Tent" at the Basin!  We are also having a few of my FAV people creating for our "Maker's Market", also out it the back!  We just put more info on the website & will be following up with a slide show and much more in the days to come!  Registration is OPEN and we would LOVE to have you and your girlfriends attend!  Be sure to watch out for our annual tradition of designing & entering our  "Quilt- On- A- Stick" contest held during our  WOOLSTOCK event!  We will be releasing the theme next week!!!  There will be BIG prizes given away, to 3 LUCKY Winners!

This week was AMAZING on the home front as well!  My lovely daughter Hannah graduated from High School on Tuesday with honors, as you may have seen from a pic/post I shared!  What an emotional mother hen I was!  The harder I tried NOT to cry.. the more I did!!!!! But, that is how I role!   I LOVE my girls & love seeing them grow and embrace each "season" of their young lives!  I am also very excited that Hannah is now dating a new & very sweet… and oh, so caring guy!  There is nothing more exciting to me than seeing your daughter happy & confident!  Next weekend we will be having her grad party!  Exciting!  Grace also finished her last day of school today and had a great year academically, as well!  She is very excited to enjoy the summer making memories with her friends, to go to dance camp & of course, sleep!  Living the dream I tell ya!!!  OH, To be young again, right???!!!!

This weekend we are hitting a bunch of grad parties, including Jodi's son, Trevor's!!  We can't wait!  Then next week, I am taking off of work to prep for our Hannah's party, clean the house & get the yard etc done!  The excitement mounts!  HAHA!  Alright… "Chatty Cathy" here better hit the hay & post this baby!  I hope you all stay cool this weekend and enjoy your grad parties as well!  Please check out the new goods online & don't forget to print off your FREE block 6 pattern!  I will be checking our comments over the weekend {since I will need a break from outside to cool off}!!!  Have a great one everyone!!!!!!

This week has been my FAV week at the shop so far!  The gals and I are having an absolute blast with our NEW line of designs!  And more importantly, we are having FUN working together seeing each piece come together!  Each day we have a "new fav"!  I honestly can't believe we are pulling it off as we just started a few weeks ago!  You gals are in for a BIG surprise!  I don't want to let the cat out of the bag… but I will tell you it is a very FUN & FESTIVE themed line complete with NEW {SUPER COOL}  Buttermilk Basin gear ranging from hats, shirts to buttons!  The gals are in LOVE with the NEW gear!  We have most of it in our hands… but the rest will be shipped to market!  CAN'T WAIT to share everything with you!  NEXT WEEK {for LUCKY FRIDAY or before…} I will be sharing it all with you!  I might even give  you guys the first SNEAK PEAK if I can swing it!  How cool would that be!!!!??

MY NEW fabric, wool & yarn dyed lines are already a BIG hit and shop owners are ordering them!  That makes my heart so happy!  I am always thrilled when you gals enjoy my offerings!  Henry Glass has a fantastic promotion going on at market!  I hope those of you who are attending market will stop by their booth and at my booth for more info!  I will also be handing out 4 FREE projects to the shop owners to bring back to their shops for you to make & enjoy!  I will try to see if I can get my hands on any wool etc to giveaway!  I actually haven't seen it - so I, too, am EXCITED to see it!!!!  Unfortunately, we will be missing a lovely dinner with them and the other designers, since we are flying back home for a day to be with my daughter {she has prom, a robotics comp & it is her 18th birthday!!!}  However, this is a SPECIAL day for her and I wouldn't miss it for the world!  I have missed most of her later birthdays since market always falls on her birthday weekend! 
I am so excited… I SOOO want to show you pics etc of the new stuff… I need to refocus here for a minute!!!!!  Today I ran home to grab my computer (the one day I didn't bring it as we have one here at the shop!) and I seen her grad party invites came!  They are just so sweet!  Hannah and I had a fun time designing them and will be sending them out {hopefully} before I go to market on Monday?!?!  Once I return, it will be time to ROCK the GRAD party!  I think I mentioned we are having a food truck!  We are having oven baked pizza and baked mini donuts from them.  After that - not a thing is decided! LOL!  So wish me luck as I work my magic in 3 weeks!!!!!!!!

Before I get back to work, I want to wish each of you a Happy Mother's day!  {That includes you pet mommas!!}  I hope you all have a lovely weekend with those you love!  Since it is our annual tradition to go to market this weekend… we have no plans!  We will be working, getting the trailer and packing it up!!!!  However, I am hoping to hit a garden center!  Since I have been at the shop every day/night… I have missed the flower run trips!  I told the hubby - I am taking a 2 hour break to enjoy the sunshine and garden center!!!!  Before I go, I want to remind you to not only leave a comment below, but to make sure and follow us on all our social media next week!  You know I am a social butterfly, so I will be sharing some of your FAV designers booths, patterns & market chaos!!!!!  Have a great weekend!!!!!!  Hope you enjoy block 5!!!!

BLOCK 4 Reveal! Live Each Season "MYstery" BOM * New WOOL Bundle

Hey!  Happy “LUCKY” Friday!!!!!  Today is the release of BLOCK #4 of our Live Each Season BOM!  So of course, we are giving away KITS of this darling summer themed block over on our FB page!  There is nothing like a cold glass of lemonade and fresh picked strawberries!  Both are so refreshing on a hot summer’s day!  We are loving this BOM as well as the NEW Sweet Olde Summertime BOM!  It is so fun to offer you exclusive projects that are designed just for YOU!!!  You gals are just the best!  SOOOO glad you are loving the BOM’s too!!!  Keep sharing your progress!  It always inspires someone {including me!}

This week we had BIG BIG BIG things going on at the Basin.  Again, {sorry} it is a secret and we can’t let anyone know until we get the word!  All I can say is that you gals are going LOVE it!  It is something very special – I am just tickled pink about it!  So know I am going to share it with you as soon as I can and we will make it a BIG BIG BIG BIG deal for YOU all too…. so we can all enjoy it together!!!!!!! 

Speaking of BIG deals!  You gals are always one of my FAV things to connect with during the week!  We love not only hearing from you on Fridays {or over the weekend} but through your emails, calls, comments on Instagram and all around!  The best part of my job is, and always will be, bringing you inspiration and enjoying my journey with you all!  I love hearing your stories, your struggles & being able to brighten, even your hardest days, through handwork!  We are so blessed to have one another! 

Guess what else in now on the website?  I just put the NEW April Basin WOOL Bundles on there!  The wool is flying off the website as fast as we can get it out!  We have restocked some wool, too, as many of you have noticed and ordered!  These SPRING wool bundles are so sweet!  They definitely capture the softer side of spring!  We hope you enjoy them!

From now until mid-May we will be working on models for the International Quilt Market!  I wish we were farther along – but you won’t believe the MAGIC we can make in a matter of a few weeks!  So be READY for some FUN things coming very soon!  I also received the salesman sample from my fabric company!  I am thinking that next week I FINALLY get to show you it {and remember… there is a twist on it – that you ALL will LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE}!  I will double check – but fingers crossed, we don’t have to wait any longer!!!! 

On the home front, my daughter is deciding on which college she will go to this weekend!  She will either be at the U of M here in Minneapolis or Iowa State in Ames.  Fingers crossed she is staying local for her momma!!! LOL!  I think her cat, Oscar, won’t be able to make it without her either!  They are too cute together!  He LOVES her!  Either way, we support her and if she ends up being in Iowa… shopping along the way will be a bonus!!!  She is also almost done with all her volunteer hours as a National Honors Society member.  Yesterday she volunteered at Feed My Starving Children.  That is one of her FAV places to volunteer!  Grace is patiently waiting for swimming to get over so she can dye her hair! LOL!  She is also trying to convince us to let her get a mini fridge & microwave put in her room!  She has big plans for good times with her girlfriends!  I love it!  Growing up I remember wanting to put a water fountain in my bedroom!  Like mother, like daughter! LOL!  Just love them both to pieces!

No big plans for Easter… I will be burning the midnight oil doing taxes for BB.  This is the last year I will have to get the stuff ready… as I have a gal who started working for me in January!  YEEHAW!!!!  I think we decided that we will be making homemade pasties for Easter.  George’s dad taught me how to make them.  It starts with a triple homemade batch of pie crust dough.  It is a labor of love and oh, so good!  He made huge pasties – so, of course, I followed suit!  Two barely fit on a large cookie sheet!  I will try to post a pic on Sunday!  I hope you have a fantastic Easter weekend and enjoy some delicious food, sweet desserts & make memories with those you love!!!  Be sure to leave a comment over on our FB page for a chance to win a kit of block 4!!!  It is so cute & kick of the first block in our SUMMER ROW!!!! 

Mystery Block 3 Revealed * NEW KITS * NEW PATTERNS!

Happy "LUCKY" Friday!  AND… Guess what today is?  It is the release of our next block {block 3} in our LIVE EACH SEASON "Mystery" BOM!  This one is the perfect block to end our 1st row!  It features a clay pot of tulips & daffodils!  Can you believe we are moving on to the 2nd row soon!  Next month we will be starting the "Summer" row!  It sure felt like summer with all the thunderstorms we've had lately!  Unfortunately, we even had a tornado touchdown not too far away here in MN, on Monday. 

SHOP ONLINE NOW!

SPRING!  Spring has sprung at the BASIN!  We are starting to share a few of our NEW spring designs with you on our website!  We are loving working with our vintage look wools!  They lend themselves so nicely to spring themed designs!  We also have designed some fantastic "LUCKY" Clover & Chick designs for this time of year!  They will blend in nicely with other spring designs and are able to be kept out throughout the entire spring!  Plus… you can never have to many "LUCKY" Clovers around!!!  I LOVE 4 leaf clovers!  AND - since I am talking about the 4 leaf clover…. I have also added the project that we are making at the shop this weekend to our website for you!  I want to be sure you all have the opportunity to make this darling little sack!  It is so cute!!!!   All these new designs are available on the website under  shop online!

If you are local, we do have 3 sessions for our make it take it.  We are pretty full, but you are welcome to see if we can sneak you in!  We also have the best dessert this month from Shelly!  It features crushed Oreos, cheesecake, mint & so much more!  We will also have more goodies and giveaways!  Shop is open 10-4 today and 10-4 on Saturday!

On the home front, I am sick {again}…sign!  However, I am on the mend!  I had high fevers and I was smoking hot…  And not in the sexy way!!!!  LOL!  I continue to be reassured that one will never be too old for popsicles and a little tlc!  Luckily, George has been cooking, taking/picking up the kiddos, and even worked from a coffee shop this afternoon - as he had to take Hannah and a few kids {along with "Hornet" the robot}  to Target for an event.   I'm blessed with great kids & an awesome husband!!!

On the shop note… I am LUCKY there too!  The gals have been doing a great job getting ahead of things!  I think you will notice your orders are getting out much faster!  If you are coming to the shop this weekend… they are also holding that down for me while I am laying low!  I am hoping to stop in for a bit tomorrow!?!?   Either way, Saturday everyone will have their St. Patty's green hats & necklaces on!   Be ready for stitching, shopping, snacking & FUN!!!!  We can't wait!!!!

Since we used some fun thread on this one.... and will continue to use more of the same thread in the next 2 blocks, we will be adding a thread kit hopefully next week {or once all the threads come in}!  I used some of the new wool thread along with some gorgeous hand dyes from various companies.  We will be combining these into one set for the “Spring” row!  Be sure to keep an eye out for that too!

Next week we will be revealing 2 more FANTASTIC WOOL monthly series and our WOOL Club.  We have a big surprise in store for those of you who sign up for both wool series!  They are not block of the month’s – they are standalone projects that are monthly themed!  We have gone out of the box on these too!  Friday can’t come soon enough!  I want to share them with you right now!!!!  {But the shop girls won’t let me!!! LOL!}  And the WOOL Club… You will be able to sign up for an automatic monthly shipment of wools that will be shipped to you once a month!  These wools will be yummy and monthly theme related!  I will be hand picking each piece for the bundles myself!!!  SO EXCITED!  

Speaking of shop gals!  We have completely revamped almost every area here along with our procedures…. All geared to better serve you and your needs!  Kelly has been back 2 days this week and April dove right into the kitting!  Angela is now doing all our printing and Jodi will be your go to gal for all your ordering/shipping needs!  Of course, I am here too if you need me!!!!!!!!!!!!  LOL!  

Next weekend the shop will be open for all you locals!  We will be open Thurs-Sat.  I will the shop hours on our calendar on our website.  Be sure to look for all the details!   We will be having our monthly party and doing a small project again!  I think I will continue doing them as ”freebies” for now!  That may change at some point down the road!

WOOLSTOCK AND…. We can’t believe it!  People are already calling to sign up for WOOLSTOCK without any info ready!  We took 2 more today!  So if you want to attend WOOLSTOCK… I would put it on your radar!  ALSO…. We are doing a summer version in JUNE or Early July!  Registration for that one will start next week!  I will have everything available on our website for that next FRIDAY!  Since MN winters can be unpredictable we decided March was not a good time to host an event!  So… summer it is!

On the home front…. All is well!  I am trying to change my "sleep" or lack of sleep hours and had been making progress until tonight... when 3 hours later... after much website issues... the NEW BOM is up!  Enough said! LOL!  This week we attended Hannah’s orchestra concert and plan to go to Gracie’s dance comp on Saturday!  The girls have been super busy, as always!!  Hannah’s robotic comp game was revealed, so they have started getting their plan to build their robot.  She has it every day from 6—9 and all day on Saturdays!  They have 6 weeks to build it and get it ready to compete!  Exciting!  Grace has torn muscle :( so I have been taking her to have it worked on so she can be ready for state comps coming up!  Tomorrow is DATE night with my hubby!  We are going to the Wolves game!  I love watching them play hoops!!!  Look for us on TV!  We are in the 2nd row behind the players!!! LOL!  Usually the one with a Diet Coke in my hand!!!!!

Ok – I best get to bed!!! But OH...
