New Block of the Month Blocks, New Patterns, Kits, Wool & Fabric!

Hello! Hope you gals are ready for some awesome projects that would be great to sit & stitch out on your deck, patio or porch!  These new ones keep getting cuter & cuter!  First off… our weekly Summer Block of the Week is a MUST for anyone who has wall space or a sewing room!  This week we are starting the 2nd row which will spell out the work “SEW”!  This row will feature vintage sewing items!  This weeks block has an adorable wooden scissor holder that our mothers or grandmothers had back in the day!  It is CUTE! 

Next up, we are embracing AUTUMN, in all it’s glory with our 2 {YES! 2 Block of the Months!} that just started.  Both second blocks are released this week in our Autumn Harvest BOM & our Buttermilk Basin’s Pumpkin Farm!  These just both happen to be pumpkin scarecrows!  Even though they are the same… they are completely different & perfect for autumn!!!!  You can buy them singly or sign up any time for autoship!

We all know it is camping or “GLAMPING” season, so we had to get our “June” camper dolled up for “real” camping, canoeing & fishing!  It is rich in color and captures a warm summer’s evening, complete with fresh fish ready for a fish fry!

Our Welcome “HOME” July Center Circle is ready!  We know many of you love getting ahead, so we wanted to get this one ready so you can change it out on your wall hanging, table runner or pillow!  We want to make sure your décor is ready for guests coming to celebrate this “sparkly” holiday!

On to the WOOL & FABRIC!  We got a bunch of NEW wool in and made new bundles!  It has been slim picking on new wool these days, but we are doing the best we can to keep coming up with some great bundles!  We also have a few new fat quarter fabric bundles that are new too!  It’s always fun to add a few fat quarters to your stash!  Don’t forget that our Spirit of America & Buttermilk Basin’s Pumpkin Farm fabric is always in stock.  Since they are BB designs, I will be keeping them on hand.  Just wait until you see all our new FALL designs!  We designed a lot of the projects around the BB Pumpkin Farm line, so be sure to snatch some of them up so you are ready to roll once the projects come out! On the home front, I had a couple of angels watching out for me yesterday as I was able to avoid what could have been a bad accident while driving to the shop.  I was driving on 35W, and out of the blue a car who was in hot pursuit from the police came up from the ditch (instead of going on the exit ramp & merging) and was inches away from hitting me.  Then he did a U-turn into oncoming traffic, flipped his car and rolled into the ditch.  Three police men were chasing him.  I am very thankful and always tell my girls, its not your driving I worry about… it is the other people’s driving!  So scary!!!  Then Hannah was supposed to get her wisdom teeth pulled out yesterday and didn’t end up doing it because they would not put her under.  So, we will have to see what other options are available.  You would think they would tell you these things ahead of time!!!  I think they are being cautious, as there have been 2 deaths of teens who were under while getting their teeth pulled.  It is better to safe all around!  Grace started summer dance this week.  She is so sore from dance but enjoying seeing all her friends again!  Hannah is rocking it at the shop and enjoying it!  We love having her here!  GW is happy that he has internet and TV now at the new house!  We have not had it until this afternoon!  Funny!  I remember growing up with 2 channels and one was CKY from Canada & WDAZ from North Dakota!!  We had antennas that I swear did nothing! LOL!  And yes, did watch tv on the black & white tvs!  I LOVED watching Lawrence Welk & Heehaw with Great Grandma Lily up the hill!  Good times!!!!

I hope you all get a little inspired by all our NEW & FUN offerings, take some time out to do some porch sitting & have a great weekend!  I will be having our nephew, his wife and little boy over for supper tomorrow and hitting the strawberry patch on Sunday!  My SIL Kelly & I will be making freezer strawberry jam & freezing some for smoothies etc!  I am SOOO excited!  Of course, I need to keep moving goods & cleaning the other house!  Never a dull moment!!!!    All my best… Stacy

FREE Mystery BOM REvEAL, FREE Sew-A-Long, NEW Patterns, kits & wool!

Hello!  I hope you all are staying warm on these chilly winter days!  

Since it has been sooo cold... we have been staying warm & busy inside!  

We can't wait to share our new BOM's, patterns & wool with you!  Let's check them out!

First off... We here is the "reveal" of our Buttermilk Homestead 2018, "MYSTERY" Block of the Month!  This one will be completely different & oh, so fun!  It also will feature my new fabric, wool & yarn dyes!  So be ready each month, as we have many gorgeous blocks ahead!  

So what did I put on the website yesterday????  All "good stuff"!  Here's some of it... the NEW 2018 Buttermilk Homestead "MYSTERY" BOM, new wool bundles and the coolest "Welcome" HOME pattern & kits!  This is so "out of the box" & stunning!  Again, I LOVE playing on my "words"!!!  Each month I will be designing a new center circle for the letter "O", which is actually a scalloped penny mat!  I have came up with 3 versions of this, so we can cater this "must have" design to all of you!  Once you make your base design {either a woolen runner, wall hanging or scalloped mat} all you need to go is purchase our monthly circle pattern/kit to make & change out each month!  The circle features a monthly themed design.  Minimal work... but stunning results in a jiffy!  Hop over to the our site & check it out!!!

We also added thread kits for the bom & "Welcome" HOME bases.  These threads are highly suggested since they really make the project!  We have hanger options for the "Welcome" HOME wall hanging that are coming in next week that we will be adding to the website.  Also, if there is anything you ever need... just give us a jingle at the shop!  We'll do our best to assist you!

On the shop front... Jess is out for a month, as her son is having surgery on both hips, Kelly is out with bronchitis & an ear infection... while 2 others are just getting back from vacation!  Diana, Jodi, Juel & I are holding down the fort!  If you called in on Wednesday- I was the "phone" girl!!! Lol!  So FUN talking to you all when you called in!

If that's not enough... we also have the November Hexi Door Greeter and Hexi Mat Patterns & kits available on our website now too! We LOVE how these turned out! We have the kits made & ready to ship! The wool is so warm & gorgeous in these kits! We are also working on the December models... so we plan to bring those to you sooner than later, so you can get them stitched up before Christmas!!

Where have I been?!? Well... working, hosting Santa's Workshop, pulling all nighters {which aren't as easy as they used to be!!} & exhibiting in Houston! We have also been working on a few "secret" projects! We also had Carole, the Quilt Mania/Simply Vintage editor fly in from France for a photo shoot for a book they are publishing for me! I promise... I'm not "slacking"!!! Lol! I also designed a super cute project for my friend Anna, to teach at Sisters, Oregon, during the quilt show! So be sure to watch for that coming out and sign up for her class! The project is themed around that event! I've also been working on 2 more fabric lines! It's nothing but exciting here for us at the Basin! We can't wait to share more with you when we can!!!!

Before I forget, I'd like to say "welcome" to all our new followers & "thank you" to our faithful supporters! You gals are just the best! Thanks for the emails, likes & for sharing your work with us!!! We love our BB community!!!

Our retail shop is getting busier & busier! Today we even had 2 gals stop in to shop when we weren't open! So... we are thinking about being open more & starting up the clubs we've always dreamt of in the new year! IF this is something you would like to see happen... please let us know! It could be hard to juggle- but we sure could give it a whirl!!!!

On the home front... Grace & Hannah are doing great!!! Grace has a timer set on her phone that is counting down the days until she gets her license! Lol! It's not until Feb!!! She's busy dancing, meeting up with friends at Caribou & recently got the cutest hair cut/color! Han is enjoying college! She's spoiled with us being so close! {But- I wouldn't have it any other way!}. She enjoyed her first deer hunting experience with her boyfriend & his family last weekend! {No, she'd never shoot a deer!}. She's going out again with them this weekend! Can't believe she's doing it!!! Lol! On a sad note... we had to put down one of Grace's guinea pigs, Pia. Poor little girl got so sick. We are hoping her other guinea pig, Oreo, doesn't get lonely!!!

I had hoped to get pics taken of the Quilts-On-A-Stick winners for today… unfortunately, it didn’t happen – but I am working on and off this weekend and that is on my to do list! It is family weekend at the University of MN, so we have a few things going on with Hannah including a Chili Cook off/tail gating before we head to the the UofM football game! It is supposed to rain… so keep your fingers crossed for me that it doesn’t!!! LOL! I took a couple afternoon’s off this week to spend time with her…. as I have 3 busy weeks coming up where the shop is open twice & I am flying out to a trade show in Houston! Gotta make times for my girls!!! We sure enjoyed hanging out, shopping & going out for supper! Good times!!!

Guess what? It’s time to share my NEW fabric, wool & yarn dyes line with you all!!! I am so excited about this collection! It is GORGEOUS! It is called Buttermilk Basin’s Pumpkin Farm! It features fall on the farm! The colors are rich; the wools are yummy & the yarn dyes are festive! You can mix and match! I just had a blast working on this line! It premieres at the International Quilt Market in 2 weeks! I can’t wait to get the real files and put them on my website so you can see how pretty they are! The samples in the pics I am sharing are just to give you an idea! I hope you love it!!! I really can’t wait to get my hands on that wool! YEEHAW!!!!!!!!!

I am going to keep this short as I am going to snuggle with my kitties! It has been a busy week and they need some love!!! I have all 4 on the bed here with me! Doesn’t get any better than that!!!! New Fall Designs, Giveaway, WOOL & NEW BOM Coming Soon!

Happy, Happy, "LUCKY" Friday this Holiday weekend!! I am so glad to be back to give away some gorgeous WOOL Bundles, share some new designs/kits, and catch up with you this week!!!! I MISSED YOU ALL LAST WEEK!! {I will be giving away a dozen of the bundles, so make sure you comment as these will be great for your upcoming fall projects!!!!}

First off the wool bundles… each month we hand pick some of our FAV wool pieces & bundle them up just for you! You can either buy them each month or you can call us and set yourself up on autoship and have them shipped to your door each month! We have many customers that do this, and wanted to make sure everyone knows about this option!!!

Next… we have 1 of the NEW Hexi designs ready! If you haven't done any of our Hexi WORD Door Greeters yet - this is one you should consider doing! Our September design spells out the word FALL and it is a KEEPER! We love everything about his design! It captures the essence of fall!!! We have patterns & kits available on our website! We also have the final snowman block available for our Bringing Home the Tree BOM! Next month, we will release the finishing kit for the quilt. If you are on the fence about purchasing the kit - I would consider doing it soon.... as we are unsure if we have the time to repeat this as a BOM! As I mentioned in the video I shared earlier today, our kits are unlike any other kits you may purchase from somewhere else… our kits contain the same wool/cotton that we use in our designs or the next closest piece possible! We want you to feel confident when ordering our kits!

At the shop… We are rocking it!  My two new gals are doing great! Diana has been here 2 weeks now & Jessica has 1 week under her belt! I have such big plans and am so lucky to have good help to move forward! Everyone is off to enjoy the Holiday weekend - so please note we are closed on Monday! 

On the home front … my girls are growing up way to fast! We moved Hannah in her dorm room on Tuesday. She doesn't have a roommate. She had wanted one, but by the time they got to her, they were down to single rooms. At first she was a little bummed, but now that she is in - she loves it!!! It was a bittersweet moment… not going to lie.. this momma is emotional and there have been a few tears shed! Luckily, everything is going great for her and she is already making new friends! She is only 20 minutes away so in the big scheme of things, we are blessed to have her close!  We will be meeting up with her at the State Fair tonight! So excited!!!! Grace is set, too, for school! She is going in to 10th grade and has spent most of the summer dancing! I enjoyed watching her dance/cheer at the first football game last night! Nothing makes me more happy than knowing my girls are happy & enjoying themselves! I love my girls {and worry about them} soo much! I am sure many of you can relate!!!! Luckily, we have handwork to keep busy with, right?!!!
