Last Day, Dec 15 * Our Special Guest
Sheri from Calico Moon

Today I would like to introduce you to someone who has the same passion & desire to create as I do!  When we get together... watch out!  It is CRAZY CREATIVE MADNESS!  She is my good friend Sheri, from Calico Moon in Lebanon, IL!  Back in the day, when I had just started my company with my mother {and we only offered stitchery, wood & doll patterns} there was this awesome primitive gift & rug hooking shop called Calico Moon who became one of the first shops to carry our line!  The coolest part, is that they still carry my line and have become one of the most sought out primitive & quilt shops in the Midwest!
I encourage you all to check their shop out on FB or when in the area!

Sheri started out as a rug hooker & wool lover.  Before long, she starting stitching and quilting with her sweet dogs by her side!   Sheri also has a great eye for color and loves helping the customers pick out fabric for their cotton & wool projects.  Sheri also likes to put her spin on things and make it unique for her shop models!  She is very inspiring and has been so good to me and my company thru the years!  I have been lucky to have her hook models for me... and more recently, I flew out to her and she helped me work on some models for market while my mom was battling cancer.... I can not say enough how awesome this gal is!
Look for more fun & exciting things from us two next year!

In the meantime... GO click the link and check out our last day on the hop!  Hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did putting it on with the other designers for each of you!

It is MY Day Today on the Christmas Blog Hop!

Ho ho ho.. Merry Christmas!  Today is my day so I will just share a few tidbits about me in my post!  BUT, before I go any further I just wanted to let you know... due to POPULAR demand and numerous requests
{even to do a blog hop everyday lol!}
... I will be hosting Seasonal Blog hops with our next one starting in February!  YEP!  You read it right!  It is going to be a fun and exciting 2015 for all of us handwork lovers!!!

Day 14 * Buttermilk Basin

As many of you know, I am Stacy from Buttermilk Basin!  I grew up North in Minnesota, fell in love with my college sweetheart & moved down to the Twin Cities where we continue to live a blessed life with our two lovely daughters, Hannah & Grace!  {AND - our 4 cats & 2 guinea pigs}!  I have been drawing and creating since I was a little girl... I grew up surrounded by generations of handwork enthusiasts and spent most of my time up the hill with my Great Grandma, Lily, learning to sew, bake & help her tend her flower gardens.  Lily was an amazing and inspiring woman who lost use of her left arm from Polio as a child, she persevered- when she was not expected to live, helped raise my mother and also taught her many of the same skills, only years earlier.  I can not imagine not having those two amazing women in my life growing up.  If it was not for them nurturing my creative soul, I would not be here sharing my love & talents that were passed down to me at a young age with each of you!

As many of you know, who follow me... I lost my mother to cancer this past June and have been a bit emotional at times....  This will be the first Christmas without either of my parents or grandparents to celebrate with... I am not sure how it will go... but, I do know I have many, many things & people in my life to be thankful for...including each of you!  So more than anything - I want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for taking the time to touch base with me, share your story, make me laugh or just say "thank you" for sharing my talent with each of you!  You have no idea {especially on a crappy day} how much you and your kind words mean to me!  As I finish my post, I want to share my Christmas Wish for each of you...
Merry Christmas from my family to yours!

Now to the "good" stuff!!! :)

I could not think of a better cookie to share with you during this time of year then Date Cookies!  My great grandma Lily always made date cookies!  I actually can't believe they are one of my favorites!  Last month, for my birthday, my aunt Phyllis sent me a box on goodies including these! So at that moment... I knew I had to share these yummy, old fashionied cookies with each of you!  Recipe card below...
Here is my Holiday Project for you!  I wanted to design a little something that you could keep up long after the Holidays have passed so I designed this little Peace on Earth Sheep!
I hope you adore & enjoy making him!
Please click the link for artwork!

LIsa in TODAY's Day!!!

Good Morning!  I hope you are getting the hang of the hop... yesterday, Meg took us to her FB page and I think it worked out quite well!!  Isn't it awesome to have all these social media options?!  Just think, not that long ago we would not be able to offer this to you!  It would have to be thru snail mail! LOL!
We only have 3 days left!  I can't believe it!
Let's enjoy it while we can....

Day 13 * Primitive Gatherings

Up next, is another "over the top" talented gal who many of you started out getting to know thru her love for wool and awesome "Gathering" books!!!!  She is Lisa, from Primitive Gatherings- right next door to me in the great state of Wisconsin!  We are also lucky to have Lisa, and her crew on the road traveling across the country vending at numerous shows to help provide us with all our supplies needed to feed our love for wool, cotton & fiber!  I am truly blown away by how much time and effort this girl puts into her work!  But...I have to give her {& the lovely Jess!} kudos for taking time out to come to the Madison show & have supper with me!  That was pretty awesome!  What swell gals!  It really has been so much fun to see her go from a wool enthusiast...
to an innovated quilter and fabric designer!

Lisa really is a great friend and also one of my favorite wool suppliers {and fabric.. and floss... and everything else under the sun! LOL!}  Last year Lisa and I had a fun time tag teaming on a wool & cotton quilt that she offered as a BOM thru her shop, Primitive Gatherings... and now we have teamed up again to offer you an unforgettable cruise filled with sun, fun & handwork!  We are both excited to share our love for handwork with you and create some awesome memories together with needles in hand!
Let's head over to her blog and see what fun pattern she has created for us!

PS * Put on your hat & mittens... It is "snowing" on her blog! :)

Today is Meg's Day!

What another fantastic project & post by Kathy!  I love the detailed instructions for each of us!  I think each one of us have a small Christmas tree tucked somewhere this Holiday Season that needs a cute little hand made skirt!!!

Day 12 * Meg from Crabapple Hill

Up next is another super talented gal, Meg from Crabapple Hill!  I don't even know if she needs an intro.. but let's go for it anyway!!  Meg is an amazing designer,  embraces her own style and ROCKS it!  She has developed (more by accident) a neat technique that many of you have come to love. It is the combination of stitching and coloring... It is fascinating!  The only problem is that I need to take a class from her to complete at least one of her spooky Halloween designs!  Again, like cross stitch, I find this technique intimidating!  However, I have taught along side of her and girls - she really does a great job teaching her style, so I think even I can do it!!! :)

This fall, Meg and I were able to spend some time together while we taught at the Buggy Barn!  We sure had a darn good time!  I have never laughed so hard during moments of our presentations!  We were quite excited that night to see everyone...and must have had the giggles!  I think "magic" really does happen when we all come together and share our love for handwork!  So with that being said... let's all go together over to her FB page and she what she has designed for the hop!

Teaching/Trunk Show, in January...at Village Dry Goods in Brgham City, Utah!

Come take a class, 2 or 3... enjoy a delicious supper and a trunk show with me at Village Dry Goods in Brigham City, Utah this January!  Please go to their website at http://www.villagedrygoods.com for all the details!  I am so excited to meet you all! :)

Village Dry Goods is a full service quilt shop located on the historical Main Street in Brigham City, Utah. We carry a full range of heirloom quality fabrics, quilt kits, patterns, and quilts for sale. We also have a full line of embroidery and stitchery supplies. The staff at the shop offers a wide variety of classes to teach the beginner to the experienced quilter. We have something to please almost every needlework artist.

Day 11 is Kathy's Day!!!!

Good morning!  I was so excited to see what Lori designed for her complimentary project...it was a punch needle design!!  Awesome!  I was hoping she would!  It is great to have a variety of designs also I various mediums for all you handwork gals!  Now that I am thinking about it... I didn't mention she enjoy that medium too!  Either way - now you know!!  Let's get started!

Dec 11* Kathy Schmitz

Today is Day 11 on the hop... And up next is another swell gal... Kathy, from Kathy Schmitz Studio!  I just love her!  She is yet another designer who has been talented from such a young age! I believe she made her first quilt at the age of 13!  Kathy grew up watching her grandma and mom sew.  They, along with their ancestors were quilters...so lucky for us...they passed down their passion for handwork to her!

Kathy designs patterns in stitchery & cotton.  Many of you may have worked with her gorgeous water colored fabric panels along with her blackwork or redwork designs!  She has a talent of fusing quilting and stitchery together thru most of her work.  Kathy likes to travel with her husband, doodle and has been sooo excited to share her son's FAV recipe with each of you!!!!  She has noted on her website/blog that she is quite the baker!  Here is a blurb from her cute story she shared on the blog...  "We didn't know cookies could be made at home!"  Let's just say she has way too many talents to worry about baking cookies!  Don't you think??? :)  Click the link gals "for the rest of the story...." :)

Lori from Not Forgotten Farm is today!

I can not tell you how thrilled I am to see each of you having and great time with this blog hop!  I also am amazed how many of these projects some of you calls have finished already!!!  Nice job!  We still have plenty to come so let's get started....

Dec 10 * Notforgotten Farm

Let's give a warm welcome to Lori from Notforgotten Farm!  To me {and many others} she is one of the Primitive "Queen" Bee's in the cross stitch industry!  {And... I know she is even more humble then me... so I hope she embraces the compliment!!!}  She really is a gifted gal who loves all things old & primitive!  Lori enjoys working in other mediums including rug hooking and more recently, wool applique.  I must admit, my FAV are her cross stitch designs!  Cross stitch is very intimidating I think- so to see such unique and creative pieces created with x's and threads is so amazing to me!

Lori resides in Amherst, VA where she runs
the "Farm Shop!"  The shop hosts open hooking & stitching on Saturdays... and encourages everyone to come out and play {especially now as winter tends to get long}!  SO... I think we should make a good old fashioned Minnesota hotdish, go over the river and thru the woods... and meet up at her Farm Shop!  Oh, the fun we would have!  Let's go click the link and head her way...

Pam of Heartspun Quilts is sharing with us today!

Happy Tuesday!  How cute was Debbie's design!  I thought it would be a great project to whip up and give your girlfriend!!  And - she even did a bonus project!  We are so lucky!!!

Also- we are so thankful many of you take the time to comment & share our hop with others!  So thank you SEW much for that! We also want to make sure you are aware that each of these complimentary patterns are still property of the designer.  We have been told of a few "derivative works" floating around out there... and we want to address that the designer should be given credit...and please post the designer's picture (not your derivative work) unless you created it to look like the designer intended it to be!

We thank you for your understanding
& we have no intention to let this issue get in the way of our AWESOME Hop!!!
It is a time give, share and Be Merry!!!
That is what this season is all about!!!

Blog Hop Day 9 * Heartspun Quilts

Today we are showcasing another "newbie" on the hop!  I know you will enjoy her!  She is Pam Buda of Heartspun Quilts.  Many of you know her from her Prairie Women's Sewing Circle that you may taken part in at your local quilt shop!  It has been great to see her start that club and have it evolve into so much more as she mentions on her website... "The art of quilting is rich in history. There are women, in untold numbers, who blazed the trail before us, leaving us with quilts and remnants of both fabrics and stories of how they lived, and what quilts meant to them."  She is an amazing gal who is leaving bits & pieces behind for each of us to enjoy!

This past spring was really the first time I was able to get to know Pam a bit more... Again, like others "we just clicked"... Maybe it is our love for old quilts, our passion to create or simply the love of fabric that brought us together!  Either way, I really have enjoyed becoming friends with her and can't wait to see her again at market this spring!  I hope you welcome Pam into our blog hop and enjoy her post & project!!! I am sooo excited to see what she designed for us!  Let's click the link and head her way!!!

Today is Debbie at Wooden Spool Designs Day!!!

Greetings!!!  It is hard to believe we have reached our half way point of our blog hop!  It seems like each day is just flying by and I am back here getting ready for another post!!!  Wouldn't it be swell if I actually continued to post each day!!!  Haha!!!  Anyway, I hope you and your friends are having a blast as each designer releases their project and shares some Holiday Spirit with each of you!  I really can't think of a better way to start the day then by clicking the link and being inspired!

Blog Hop Day 8 * Wooden Spool Designs

Debbie, from Wooden Spool Designs really is a great friend in my life!  We just "clicked" at trade show several years ago.. and we have been in touch ever since.  Everyday she brightens my day and makes me smile!  She has a wonderful husband {who does all the shows with her!} and the sweetest little grand kids {including a set of triplets} that she spends most of her days with!  She truly is one of the sweetest gals you will ever meet!
 {Sounds like most of the previous gals, too!!!}
I am blessed!

Debbie's favorite medium is WOOL!  She dyes the wool for all her kits, shows & some shops!  If she is not dying wool, she is up in her home studio working away on new darling designs for her pattern company!  This fall she came to the Buggy Barn to take a class from me (really just to visit).  I can't tell you how much fun Debbie, Gail Pan & I had!!  But... I had to chuckle.. since Debbie and I have different wool applique techniques - I really thought she may embrace "my" technique while working with wool!  But NOPE! LOL... She still had to pull out her applique pins!  Actually, she did most of it using my technique but she cracked me up that day by pulling those pins out!  So, my friends, know that no matter what anyone teaches you... It is ALWAYS ok to do it the way that works best for you!  Let's hop!

How this works... is that each day, {Dec 1-15} I will post (along with the other delightful bloggers) a link for you to click on from our blogs that will take you directly to that day's designer blog where you will read a bit about them and their favorite Holiday memory for example.  You will also receive a complimentary recipe from them that you can print off and add to you collection!  Then don't forget to download their complimentary design they designed just for this blog hop event {AND thank them in the comments!!}.  I have been in contact with each of the designers and we are all so excited to see the hop come together... and help us all get in the spirit of giving!  This is our small token of thanking each of you for supporting us designers and our passion!
Without you... we would not be able to do what we do!
Are you ready?  Let's get the hop going!  ENJOY!
