Blackberry Primtives Day 7- Blog Hop Post HERE!

Welcome to another fantastic day of hoppin!  Today will be one of 3 days that I will also be posting the designers post on my blog as they do not have a blog....  However, please feel free to go their FB Page and learn more about them!  I want to make sure everyone has access to all the recipes & projects to download.... so we are keeping it consistent, as I know not everyone is on FB and this is how we have been doing it so I don't mind helping both you and the other designers out!  So I will keep my intro short and sweet since you can read about them below!
Also thank again to Debbie Busby for linking us up!
Let's get started!  Here is Blackberry Primitives post!  Enjoy!

 Good Morning,
It is a busy time of year for Blackberry Primitives.  We work out of our homes, hand-dying wool and velvet and also designing smaller projects for wool applique.  We are also proud to work with many other designers who take our product and make it into something beautiful and spectacular!

As we pull out the Christmas totes to get our homes decorated for the season, it is fun to be reminded of the things stashed away that we love to display this time of year.

One of our favorite things to use is Pears....wool pears, velvet pears, and yes, even fresh pears!  We've all heard about the Partridge in a Pear tree and we each have one of those, too.
So, of course, our little pattern we designed for you includes pears!  We stitched the pear, along with some holly leaves and berries onto velvet to make a pin cushion.  Stitched the same onto a stuffed wool ornament to hang on the tree, or a cupboard knob and made a pear garland to string across a window or cupboard shelf.

We hope you enjoy making the pear items and our wish is for each and every one of you to have a Very Merry Christmas and All the Best to you for the New Year!  We were wanting to share a recipe of some great dish made with pears, but neither of us knew of any...lol.

But, this recipe was made for a Thanksgiving dinner and was devoured in no time by Cindi's nieces and nephews, one of whom exclaimed "This is the best stuff, ever!"  Had to agree with her, it's a crowd-pleaser.

Thank You, Stacy, for including us in this fun event!

Kathy is up for day 6 of our Handmade Christmas Blog Hop!

It looks like the hop is moving along... Didn't you just love the doves Ali created!  I am envisioning a whole tree filled with them!  How lovely would that be?  I hope you remember to print off your recipes & patterns from days 1-5!  We have a lot more to go,,, so be sure to keep them in a safe place!

Blog Hop Day 6 * The Cottage at Cardiff Farms

Today I bring you my friend Kathy, from The Cottage at Cardiff Farms!  She resides on a three-acre farm just outside sunny San Diego, CA!  Many of you have come to know her through her sweet pin cushion books and more recently, her barn quilt!  Over the past couple of years, I have got to know Kathy well & really enjoy her work!  She has a great heart, loves to spend time in her garden, make homemade jams & bake!  A girl after my own heart!

Kathy also works & teaches at The Country Loft in La Mesa, Ca.  If you have not been to that shop, I would highly recommend it!  It is one of my FAV shops!  And, as a bonus, you could take a class from Kathy!  This past spring I flew out and taught there, met some wonderful customers of the shop, spent time with the gals there and Kathy.  I had so much fun!!!!  I sure wish I lived much closer as they all are so kind, inspiring and they have so much WOOL there!  What more does a girl need!  I am so excited to have Kathy in the hop... I hope you enjoy a new addition and welcome her to the group!

And yes!  We are running on no sleep here!!!! LOL! :)
Let's go click the link and head to her page!

Blog Hop Day 5 * Ali Strebel Designs

This next gal is off the charts creative!  She is Ali Strebel of Ali Strebel Designs!  Back in the day, she became know for her work with her friend, Sally thru their company "Kindred Spirits"!  I think it is fair to say that they really did open the door for us primitive designers!  They set the bar high.. with their fresh, new perspective on wool, embellishing & sharing their talent thru books, patterns & their shop.

Since Sally retired, Ail kept creating! {Aren't we LUCKY!}  She moved all her goods to her Cottage behind her home and offers classes & supplies for rug hookers, needle felters & fiber artists!  If you have time - you really should scroll thru her blog as she attends a lot of rug hooking shows and shares some fantastic pictures of her travels, including some beautiful hand hooked rugs!  Rug hooking really is an art and I can't think of anyone who does it better then Ali!  I see another road trip gals!  Who's in! :)
