Blog Hopping, Planting & Missing my Momma!

Welcome back for another day of our Summerthyme Blog Hop!
Yesterday's project was so sweet!  Lori from Notforgotten Farm designed a scissor key fob!  How perfect for you handwork gals who love to do cross stitch!  If you haven't got back into cross stitch... this would be a great project to start with!  It is very doable!

Switching gears...Yesterday was the 1st anniversary of my mother's passing.... and today we celebrated the life of my neighbor, Jeff.  I can't believe how different life is without mom.  I'm still very emotional and still miss her dearly!  Our neighborhood is also different without Jeff!  He was such a funny & kind hearted guy!  So hard loosing such amazing people in our lives... trying to find comfort in knowing that they are both in peace & pain free...

Today I finally took time to plant my flowers in pots to place in my vintage piece that was given to me by an awesome customer, April!  I love it and still am amazed she had no use for it!  I'm happy to put it to good use!  I can't wait to see the flowers grow & fill in!  Don't you just love it?!!!!

Before I send you on your way to Meg's website, I will share Kathy's & Meg's recipes with you!  I know many of you are printing off the recipes to add to your collection~so here are their's to enjoy!  They are both keepers!!!

Loss of my Mother...

Hello... On June 19th, while I was vending at a show in Chicago... my mother, 62, lost her battle to colon cancer.  She was surrounded by those who cared so deeply for her, much love...and slept peacefully away after being in a coma for only a few hours...  My heart is broke and I will miss her dearly.  I do know she is in a much better place with no more cancer causing her pain & suffering.  I hope she is enjoying coffee and sugar cookies with Grandma Lily and the family... and is back with the love of her life... my dad...

Once we returned from Chicago, I spent the next day gathering numerous photos and goods for her visitation.  My two daughters and I went and picked out mom's outfit together... we shared fond memories and many tears as we made our final choice.  Red it was- mom's favorite color!  And polka dots... Because anything polka dot always caught her eyes!  The next few days flew by, but not without a sewing inspired visitation, hearing about memories made with mom and an amazing turnout out of friends & family from near and far.  That evening we enjoyed a festive balloon release- followed by a private, lovely, graveside service the following morning.  Everything truly went beautifully!  My heart is happy -as my Mom was soooo LOVED!

Before we left mom's {after digging up some of her flowers to bring home} we had to snuggle with the little kittens.... When my dad passed away, my great grandmother Lily, and now mom... baby kitties were born!  Isn't that amazing!!!

Now we are home- just tonight we planted a flower bed in our back yard with flowers that were given in memory of mom...  I can't wait to share pics with you as it grows and as I add accessories to it!  My brother started a new flower bed there, too, in Fox!  Let's hope mom's green thumb rubbed off on my brother and I!

Here are a few pics from Mom's Celebration of Life!  Rest in peace momma...  I miss you sooo much already! Xoxo
