New Block of the Month Blocks, New Patterns, Kits, Wool & Fabric!

Hello! Hope you gals are ready for some awesome projects that would be great to sit & stitch out on your deck, patio or porch!  These new ones keep getting cuter & cuter!  First off… our weekly Summer Block of the Week is a MUST for anyone who has wall space or a sewing room!  This week we are starting the 2nd row which will spell out the work “SEW”!  This row will feature vintage sewing items!  This weeks block has an adorable wooden scissor holder that our mothers or grandmothers had back in the day!  It is CUTE!

Next up, we are embracing AUTUMN, in all it’s glory with our 2 {YES! 2 Block of the Months!} that just started.  Both second blocks are released this week in our Autumn Harvest BOM & our Buttermilk Basin’s Pumpkin Farm!  These just both happen to be pumpkin scarecrows!  Even though they are the same… they are completely different & perfect for autumn!!!!  You can buy them singly or sign up any time for autoship!

We all know it is camping or “GLAMPING” season, so we had to get our “June” camper dolled up for “real” camping, canoeing & fishing!  It is rich in color and captures a warm summer’s evening, complete with fresh fish ready for a fish fry!
Our Welcome “HOME” July Center Circle is ready!  We know many of you love getting ahead, so we wanted to get this one ready so you can change it out on your wall hanging, table runner or pillow!  We want to make sure your décor is ready for guests coming to celebrate this “sparkly” holiday!
On to the WOOL & FABRIC!  We got a bunch of NEW wool in and made new bundles!  It has been slim picking on new wool these days, but we are doing the best we can to keep coming up with some great bundles!  We also have a few new fat quarter fabric bundles that are new too!  It’s always fun to add a few fat quarters to your stash!  Don’t forget that our Spirit of America & Buttermilk Basin’s Pumpkin Farm fabric is always in stock.  Since they are BB designs, I will be keeping them on hand.  Just wait until you see all our new FALL designs!  We designed a lot of the projects around the BB Pumpkin Farm line, so be sure to snatch some of them up so you are ready to roll once the projects come out! Much more on the website!
On the home front, I had a couple of angels watching out for me yesterday as I was able to avoid what could have been a bad accident while driving to the shop.  I was driving on 35W, and out of the blue a car who was in hot pursuit from the police came up from the ditch (instead of going on the exit ramp & merging) and was inches away from hitting me.  Then he did a U-turn into oncoming traffic, flipped his car and rolled into the ditch.  Three police men were chasing him.  I am very thankful and always tell my girls, its not your driving I worry about… it is the other people’s driving!  So scary!!!  Then Hannah was supposed to get her wisdom teeth pulled out yesterday and didn’t end up doing it because they would not put her under.  So, we will have to see what other options are available.  You would think they would tell you these things ahead of time!!!  I think they are being cautious, as there have been 2 deaths of teens who were under while getting their teeth pulled.  It is better to safe all around!  Grace started summer dance this week.  She is so sore from dance but enjoying seeing all her friends again!  Hannah is rocking it at the shop and enjoying it!  We love having her here!  GW is happy that he has internet and TV now at the new house!  We have not had it until this afternoon!  Funny!  I remember growing up with 2 channels and one was CKY from Canada & WDAZ from North Dakota!!  We had antennas that I swear did nothing! LOL!  And yes, did watch tv on the black & white tvs!  I LOVED watching Lawrence Welk & Heehaw with Great Grandma Lily up the hill!  Good times!!!!

I hope you all get a little inspired by all our NEW & FUN offerings, take some time out to do some porch sitting & have a great weekend!  I will be having our nephew, his wife and little boy over for supper tomorrow and hitting the strawberry patch on Sunday!  My SIL Kelly & I will be making freezer strawberry jam & freezing some for smoothies etc!  I am SOOO excited!  Of course, I need to keep moving goods & cleaning the other house!  Never a dull moment!!!!    All my best… Stacy

Fabric Giveaway, Commemorative Quilt & Celebrating!

This week flew by!  Hannah, Kelly & I spent most days racing around the shop pulling patterns, cutting more kits & restocking patterns!  We had so many orders to ship today, that 40 minutes wasn't enough for the gal to finish our stash...so she had to send us out to the manual station!  Needless to say, we could rock working at the post office now!  We've got this down!!!

I'm happy to say a few more new patterns got done & sent out today including the Autumn Pillow!  So if you ordered a couple patterns that weren't ready - they are or will be done today!  I'm so glad the covers finally got printed and delivered!  It's hard not being able to control that part!  But then again- there were over 70 new patterns that did get completed at one time- so I think that's pretty awesome!!!  And thanks for enjoying the new patterns!  I'm so happy you are all loving them!  That's exactly why I do it!!!!  Someone's got to keep you busy stitching!!!!

The "Mystery" BOM kits are also restocked {including block 1} and the website will be updated this weekend!  So now you can order the first block that has never been available until now!  The charms also came in today so we got all, but a few orders out of the Americana Crow on Spool & Typewriter Charm orders! We are also cutting more of those kits...so be sure to download that free pattern either way and enjoy it!

I was looking at some old pictures and came across some from my grandma & grandpa's 40th wedding anniversary and thought I'd share them with you!  Do you notice the commemorative quilt that we made for them!?  I think I was around 12 when I drew my block with my mom.  She embroidered it, along with several other blocks in the quilt!  I'm hoping to go over to my aunt Batty's house and get a closer look at it as I can't quite remember what I drew!  I'll share more close ups if I get that opportunity!  It's really quite special!  Do any of you still create these commemorative quilts for special occasions?  I know the t-shirt quilts are quite popular for graduates... Let me know!  I'm fascinated by these quilts and signature quilts!

This week Grace went to Kentucky with a friend & her family...so we will celebrating with just the 3 of us!  We have no set plans... except to work a bit each day at the shop!  I'm sure food, road tripping & fireworks will be in there somewhere!  I'll keep you posted!!!  What are your plans?!?!!

Don't forget to head over to our FB page for "LUCKY" Friday!!!  It's a great way to kick start the Holiday weekend and try your luck at winning a yard of Americana cotton prints from my Humble Beginning fabric line!!!!   I thought it would be perfect to give away on this 4th of July weekend!!  Good luck! Hope you have a great Holiday weekend filled with good food & food friends/family!

Happy Monday! More blog hop fun from Meg & Gail!

Happy Monday!  How cute were the designs from the hop over the weekend from Lori & Meg from Crabapple Hill!  I have fond memories of riding my little trike as a little girl!  I think I might even have some pictures of my girls riding their trikes when they were little waving the flags on the 4th!  Very sweet design!  I have also seen a few cross stitch pieces already made up from Lori of Notforgotten Farm.  I do not cross stitch - but I am loving that little key fob!!!!
This weekend we also took in the Back to the 50's Car Show at the MN State Fairground.  I had never been to that so we decided to take the girls and head down to check it out & see all the cars!  Let me tell you - we did not even make a dent at looking at all the cars!  It was amazing and soooo much to take in.  If you are a car lover and ever get the opportunity - you really should plan to come and spend the weekend at the show!  Plus... they open up many of the state fair food stands!  It was such a gorgeous day out too!  Here are a few picks of the old, vintage & rusty trucks that caught my eye!  These were few and far between but their patina was amazing!

Up next is Gail from Gail Pan Designs.  Here are a few tidbits about summer/gardening from her!  Sounds like she has a keeper (her hubby) who does all the gardening!  Lucky girl!!!!

4th & Party Planning!

Hello Friends!
I hope each of you are doing well and starting to re-coop from the Holiday Weekend!

For the first time in quite sometime, we did not take in any festivities or gatherings over the 4th.  It was a very quiet (can I say, long?) weekend for us at the West household.  My youngest daughter came down with a fever early Saturday morning which has had her pretty much confined to the couch for most of the weekend.  In between taking her temps and keeping her hydrated, we did manage to sneak out today and pick up a load of "legal MN fireworks" to shoot off tonight!  It is the best we could do under the circumstances....  We gathered the neighbors, lit the sparklers and watched a simple, but beautiful array of fireworks in the dark sky!
Sometimes, it is the "little things in life" that matter the most!

My two girls and the neighbors with their sparklers!  :-)

Now... With that being said... I really did miss celebrating with family and friends.  So, I have decided it is time start planning a summer party!  For those of you who don't know (although I totally LOVE what I do) my DREAM job, would be to be a kick ass PARTY PLANNER!  Typically, I host several "themed' parties a year.  However, since BB has grown over the last few years, my "play" time has decreased (soo not fair!)  As I say that - I also have to say I  have never miss giving the girls a cool themed birthday party of their choice.  Birthday parties are sooo special in my books!!!  As a little girl, I would get showered with birthday parties (I lived between two sets of grandparents!!! Lucky me!)  But the best part was going to Great Grandma Lily's and getting my favorite homemade three layer cake - it was white with white frosting and coconut!  It was the best ever!  (You know it was good when I am really a chocolate girl!!)  That reminds me... I should through myself a "29"party this year!!!

OK - back to my party... I am thinking of a Vintage Backyard BBQ?  What do you think?  I am thinking of basing it around red gingham.  I have the the best blue and red old metal trays, a ton of Mason jars....  etc! I think it could be really cool!  Here is my inspiration..... I thought you would enjoy the pics too!  If you have any other cool ideas - let me know!
